ROAD INTERCHANGE, MILAN / Speed counts on a road. Drytech created the waterproof structure of the motorway interchange underpass of the Milan East Ring Road at via Rombon, in Segrate.

The DRYset system for controlling shrinkage cracks enabled seamless casting of the underpass walls, speeding up significantly this phase of construction. Insertion of Crack Inducers between steel to manage shrinkage cracks substitutes traditional casting joins.

Controlled cracking allows casting steps to be made unaffected by the concrete’s physical and chemical properties, saving time and costs linked to formwork and removing formwork from intermediate casting steps.

The only limit is therefore represented by the daily productive capacity. This speed in the progression of casting is an added value for any construction site, but even more so in those linked to mobility, like the motorway underpass of via Rombon.
